The Power Smart Small Business Challenge is a competition where two businesses will compete head-to-head this summer to see which company can reduce their energy consumption the most. The company with the highest percentage energy reduction wins. Each business will be guided by a Business Energy Advisor who will provide expert advice and businesses will receive financial support from BC Hydro to make energy-efficient upgrades.

What The Challengers will win

In addition to reducing your company’s electricity use and learning useful energy management practices, there are other perks for winning:

Small Business Challenge Winner

  • Profiles in select publications
  • A celebration event for the businesses employees and community to be organized with BC Hydro and held in the winner’s community
  • A recognition certificate acknowledging the win
  • A graphic for the winners website to promote the win
  • Exposure in BC Hydro owned channels including bchydro.com and in BC Hydro’s Power of Business eNewsletter

Small Business Challenge Runner-Up

  • A framed certificate recognizing their participation in the challenge
  • Exposure in BC Hydro owned channels including bchydro.com and in BC Hydro’s Power of Business eNewsletter
  • Exposure in the community where the business operates through promotion in local business associations
